Celebrating Canada’s finest in fashion at the CAFA Awards
The Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards (CAFA) was put together to celebrate exceptional achievement and emerging talent in the Canadian fashion industry. The purpose of CAFA, as a nationwide platform, is to cultivate the next generation of Canadian talent through an annual awards show and year-round commercial development initiatives. This kind of exposure will develop a stronger appreciation for Canadian talent at home and across the globe. CAFA hosted its third annual red-carpet Awards show event on Friday, April 15th, 2016, which included a unique evening that connects Canadian talent and fashion guides from around the world. The event honours designers, models, image creators, stylists and other guides that made an impact on the Canadian fashion industry. CAFA has now established itself as a leading event in the Canadian fashion industry through the many honourees. The event will hopefully bring exposure to Canadian fashion and bring more economic development in Canada’s fashion industry.
Awards that were given at the event were ones such as The Womenswear Designer of the Year, The Menswear Designer of the Year, The Fashion Design Student Award, The Image Maker Award, The Model of the Year Award and many others. All nominees rightfully deserved to be there whether or not they won the award. The night was about the appreciation of the Canadian Fashion industry and that is what they did. It was truly an incredible evening and a genuine celebration of the exceptional talent within our country. A big congratulations to all the winners and nominees on such a successful and inspiring night.
